This course conducts an advanced examination of street gang investigations.  Designed for officers who already possess basic street gang knowledge, this program offers you an in-depth study of national gang structures, intelligence gathering, advanced graffiti analysis and officer survival skills.

You will learn how gangs recruit new members and the various national programs available that are designed to prevent gang membership.  You will see what to look for in a shooting or other assault that may indicate if it was drug-related, an initiation, a turf war or other gang activity.  More importantly, you will learn the various techniques used by gangs in their attacks on police officers along with valuable tactics you can use to increase your safety.

Because of the advanced subject matter, completion of IPTM’s Street Gangs Identification and Investigation is recommended.
