Public Safety Institute
- Orlando, Florida |

The Public Safety Institute (PSI) was
formed in 1978 for the purpose of providing career development training for law
enforcement officers. In 1997, PSI became a division of the Institute of Police
Technology and Management, University of North Florida. Between the two
Institutes, they have over 40 years of experience providing law enforcement
training to police officers throughout the world. PSI has more than 150 adjunct
instructors as members of the professional instructional staff and each is a
specialist in their field. The faculties of both Institutes combine practical
law enforcement skills with many years of police training experience and the
academic background necessary to effectively train in-service law enforcement
officers. Highly qualified experts from government, private industry and the
academic community supplement the full time faculty.
The Public Safety Institute provides career development training for law
enforcement officers within a variety of disciplines. Courses range from patrol
to administrative; from conceptual to hands-on; for line to staff officers. PSI
courses range from 20 to 40 hours in length depending on the subject. The Public
Safety Institute is located in Orlando, Florida. For a listing of courses
offered at this location, please visit the website: iptm.org/psi.htm The Public
Safety Institute can also provide quality training on your site.

As part of the commitment to conduct international classes, IPTM
has been offering a range of Crash Investigation courses in Australia since
1997.
The courses are taught on the campus of the University of
Newcastle, which is located approximately two hours drive north of Sydney.
Newcastle is situated at the mouth of the Hunter River and is the second largest
city in New South Wales. Adjoining Lake Macquarie, Australia's largest coastal
saltwater lake, Newcastle is close in proximity to great beaches and less than
half an hour drive to the famous wine district of the Hunter Valley.
The University of Newcastle campus has proved an excellent venue
for teaching IPTM programs. Situated on 125 hectares of natural bush land at
Callaghan, 12 km west of the city of Newcastle, the University is well served by
public transportation and has excellent access to the freeway and local
accommodations.
The courses are taught in the Health and Physical Education
building where there is access to excellent audio and video facilities. Students
also have use of the adjoining 'forum' Olympic swim center, gymnasium and
cafeteria.
For information on Australia's classes, please contact IPTM at
(904) 620-IPTM.
