Child Abuse Investigations

Designed for both law enforcement officers and social service investigators, this course will give you a solid foundation in the management and investigation of child physical abuse and sexual assault cases.

You will learn practical investigative techniques for handling these cases as we discuss the issues surrounding physical and sexual abuse, sexual exploitation of children and child neglect. We will identify the characteristics of child abusers, molesters and rapists and the evidence to look for both at the crime scene and on the victim.

You will also learn the basic skills of forensic child interviewing and how to conduct effective suspect interrogations as well as the additional factors to be considered in cases that involve children with special needs.
