Boating Under the Influence

This course will teach you how to recognize and properly evaluate impaired boat operators from the initial observation of the vessel to the arrest and processing of the suspect.
Designed specifically for the marine environment, you will learn how to detect impaired boaters and properly administer field sobriety tests using procedures commissioned by the United States Coast Guard. The course will also cover enforcement strategies and issues surrounding Miranda and Implied Consent. If you have already had training in standardized field sobriety testing, this course will expand your training giving you specific techniques for use in boating situations.
