IPTM’s Grade Gauge is an instrument that the traffic crash investigator (or reconstructionist) can easily use to measure the grade or slope elevation of a roadway or the slope of any surface.

The Grade Gauge is fits in the glove compartment of any vehicle. You can take a reading with the gauge in less than five seconds by simply placing the gauge on the roadway where the slope is to be measured, adjusting the arm that gives the reading and returning to the safety of the shoulder to interpret the reading.

Highly accurate, the slope can be read to the nearest half degree. By entering your reading in degrees into a pocket calculator and pressing the tangent button, you can obtain an answer in percent, which can then be used in the various speed formulas requiring this information.
